getting ready to get ready will attack you at some point or another, there's normally a root cause that triggers us to procrastinate, most times its something we're afraid of or just don't like doing. Whatever the cause, you have to get over it. Maybe you need to get organized and you're around a lot of mess and clutter. Sometimes you just have to turn off the T.V. and phone to give yourself some quiet time. Probably the only justifyable reason to get ready to get ready is due to the lack of financial resources, thats the only acceptable excuse in my book. getting ready to get ready can make you lose your edge and slow down your creativity. Remember, wasted marketing time can never be recovered, by the time you realize what happened its too late. if it seems more and more impossible to get all the things done you need to get done for the day you could be creating the problem by putting things off week after week. You may even find yourself constantly making excuses to your clients about why you never followed up with them, after awhile you notice that you begin to sound a little flimsy even to you.
A classic time waster is to continue to develope new leads instead of contacting the prospects you already have. If you find that you really do have too much on your plate its important that you cut back on some of your other activities immediatly because a business without marketing isn't a business, its an expensive hobby. Learn to make yourself accountable by telling your group exactly what you plan to get done this week and ask them not to accept any excuses from you and to remind you of why you said you were doing all this in the first place, we all make mistakes so give yourself permission to fail a few times.
